Best of 2006

Here's my best of 2006 list....just in case you were wondering!
Albums of the Year:(in no real order)
Thom Yorke - “Eraser” Ok, I wanted a new Radiohead record, but once I realized it wasn’t going to be a new Radiohead record, I quickly started to love the Eraser.
Muse – “Black Holes and Revelations” I still like “Absolution” better, but I got to see the tour, and Muse was just amazing. Glam-y, huge, epic. I love it.
Bernard - “A View from the Cave” listened to this while driving around the grand canyon. Now I have an all new appreciation for both the CD and the canyon. “Too Far” is easily one of my favorite songs of the year.
Gnarles Barkley - “St Elsewhere” The best song in years has a really good album to go along with it. Who knew?
Midlake - “The Trials of Van Occupanther” Eddie introduced me to this band on tour. And I love them. I love them all.
Imogene Heap – “Speak for Yourself” who knew an electronica record could be emotional and warm?
Mew - “And the Glass Handed Kites” Just go buy it. I love this record.
Big runners up:
Arctic Monkeys
Keane
The Raconteurs
Jars of Clay
Leeland
Copeland
John Mayer (I’m a girl, give me a break)
Make this band famous. Someone please:
Deas Veil
Shows of the year: (being on tour, I got shafted and barely got to see any shows...but these were really good ones)
Radiohead at the Greek Theatre
Muse at the Greek Theatre
The Flaming Lips at the Minnesota State Fair
Jeremy Enigk and Cursive in Atlanta
The Fray at the House of Blues
Anathallo at Purple Door Festival
Lovedrug, The Myriad and Brandtson in Chattanooga, cause I was desperate for a show and grown ups.
Films of the Year: (once again, life on the road has killed my viewing...of what I saw, these were my favorites)
The Departed
The Prestige
Stranger than Fiction
Pursuit of Happyness
Pirates 2
And of course
Charlotte’s Web
(I’m sure if I saw them, I would have loved Little Miss Sunshine, Borat, Running with Scissors and the Iwo Jima movie)
Comments? Anyone?
